I’ve always been a big fan of waterfalls. This waterfall is located just outside Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Unlike the much more well known Dunn’s River Falls, Blue Hole isn’t overrun by tourists. There’s nothing but a couple beautiful waterfalls, a trail through the woods connecting them, and a handful of locals hanging out who are more than willing to act as your guides. As the name suggests the water is a wonderful shade of blue which is enhanced by the surrounding natural beauty.
Jumping From The Falls
The first thing we saw when we arrived at the main waterfall of Blue Hole was one of the locals running down the waterfall and diving into the pool below. It was a crazy sight, I had never seen anyone do something like that in person before. Ten minutes later, with the help of one of the locals, I was jumping myself, not quite as quickly or as gracefully but it was still a rush. That video isn’t very exciting, so instead the video below is of the locals diving in. Even watching it now, the video looks crazy.
