Off The Beaten Path
There are plenty of great places to travel, unfortunately many of these locations are packed full of tourists who want to see the same amazing sights. There’s nothing wrong with visiting these places, after all, you’re not likely to see something like the Colosseum or the pyramids of Egypt without other people being around. But it’s the lesser known places, those that are amazingly beautiful yet a little off the beaten path that I especially enjoy. Blue Hole, which I wrote about yesterday, is one great example, despite its amazing beauty we were the only visitors during the time we were there. The beautiful beach below was likely busy later in the day, but when we arrived there wasn’t another person to be seen.
This photo was taken on the island of Virgin Gorda, part of the British Virgin Islands. We arrived on the island early one morning and headed straight to Savannah Bay. The beach was completely empty, not another person to be seen. As we walked down the beach nothing but unspoiled beauty appeared before our eyes. The air was cool and the water was chilly at best but we couldn’t resist the opportunity to swim in such a beautiful location.
